Palpebral Ptosis is a malposition of the eyelids that causes one or both of the upper eyelids to fall, which partially or totally cover the pupil, thus blocking vision.
There is no set age to suffer from this condition. When it occurs in children, it is usually due to congenital causes, so the symptoms are evident from birth.
Treatment of congenital ptosis depends essentially on the patient's age, vision, and muscle function.
The appropriate specialist to treat this condition is the oculoplastic ophthalmologist.
