When its anatomy or transparency is affected, vision decreases. If the same does not improve with the use of glasses or contact lenses, a corneal transplant should be evaluated: the affected cornea of the patient is surgically replaced by a donor tissue.
The transplant can be partial or complete, depending on the depth of the involvement. Keratoconus, Fuchs' dystrophy and corneal scars are some of the most frequent pathologies that require a corneal transplant.
