Pregnancy and vision
24 January 2020
During pregnancy, there is an increase in various hormones that aim to guarantee the normal development of this period. The mother's body undergoes many changes and the organs of the body are affected, including the eyes. In general, the visual disturbances are not serious and it is not necessary to change the prescription of the glasses. Corrective LASIK surgery is not recommended in pregnant or lactating women.
Pregnant women should pay special attention to their vision, especially if there are previous eye conditions such as hypertension, glaucoma or diabetes. With good eye control, complications can be avoided.
Remember not to self-medicate, if you notice any abnormality in your vision do not hesitate to go to an ophthalmological consultation
